DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
DR. SATISH CHANDRA RAI
(DIRECTOR)
I will start this message on a rather concerning note, in the year 2019 the UNICEF chief Henrietta Fore warned-“Over Half of Indian youth will not have skills for the 21st century jobs” So my question to you all is – Why? What is the problem our education system is facing currently? The answer can be found in the same report which claims that our education system is not aligned with what the world demands in 21st century i.e. Industry specific Skills and our government is also keen to take major steps in that direction.
The New Education policy 2020 clearly states -“Education must move towards less content and more towards critical thinking and being creative and multi disciplinary”. And we at Sri Sharda want to be the forerunners in this change and work on how to adapt, innovate and absorb new material in novel changing fields.
The approach of having a sound industry academia interface is must to ensure that we equip our students with the tools required to not just survive but also to excel in the today’s skill driven and technology oriented world. Since we have always understood the importance of this approach, teaching here at Sri Sharda goes beyond the walls and we establishes an industry-academia link by providing our students exposure through summer internship programmes, industrial visits, value addition programmes like personality grooming classes, CCC classes and certification and other skill development certification courses from the top IITs in addition to regular classroom lectures and academic structure.
We also value the expertise and experience that learned men from the industry can offer our students so we regularly arrange guest lecturers from people of diverse backgrounds including academicians, industry leaders and bureaucrats. We work to first understand and explore the underlying potential and interest of the student and then prepare him for a job and future in his area of interest by providing him the required and desired industry specific skills.
As it is rightly said “Changes begins with you wanting to change” and if you want to change how your future will look in the years to come we at Sri Sharda are very much willing to be the catalyst in your process.
